Scoring
- AVERAGE SCORES:
- AVERAGE SCORES, USED FOR ALL JUDGED EVENTS, ARE WHAT AN AVERAGE COMPETITOR IN A GIVEN CLASS SHOULD SCORE. COMPLETED TRICKS OF ABOVE AVERAGE DIFFICULTY ADD TO THE AVERAGE SCORE.
- FACTORS THAT AFFECT AVERAGE SCORES:
- CONTESTANT’S LINES AND USE OF ENTIRE SKATING AREA.
- NUMBER OF TRICKS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED AND CONTINUITY (THE FLUID LINKING ) OF TRICKS IN A SKATERS LINE.
- DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY & CREATIVITY OF TRICK.
- HOW “LARGE” COMPLETED TRICKS ARE PERFORMED.
- SKATER’S ATTITUDE, POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE, INFLUENCES THE SCORING.
- SKATER’S AGGRESSIVENESS, DOES HE SKATE SLOW AND METHODICALLY OR FAST AND WITH ASSURANCE, INFLUENCES THE SCORING.
- SCORING:
- F.A.S.L. uses a panel of 3 Judges.
- SKATERS GET TWO (2) 45-SECOND RUNS FOR VERTICAL RAMP, MINI-RAMP, BOWLS EVENTS AND TWO (2) 1 MINUTE RUNS FOR STREETSTYLE.
- Scorekeeper will total the 3 judges scores, and divide by 3, thereby producing an Average (of the 3 judges) for that run.
- IT IS THE SKATER’S BEST OF TWO (2) AVERAGES THAT IS USED FOR RANKING (PLACING). IF TWO SKATERS ARE TIED ON BOTH AVERAGES & THEY ARE IN A TROPHY PLACE THEN A THIRD RUN IS PERFORMED BY THE TIED SKATERS. THE THIRD RUN (TIE-BREAKER) SCORE WILL BE USED FOR FINAL RANKING.
Sponsorship
- CONFIRMATION OF SPONSORSHIP:
- SKATESHOP SKATERS: (PRIMARY SPONSOR IS A SKATESHOP) You must have the shop verify your sponsorship. This must be done in writing! A letter from your shop on their letterhead will do.
- FACTORY TEAM RIDERS: (PRIMARY SPONSOR IS A FACTORY) You must be on the OFFICIAL TEAM LIST of a truck, board, wheel, shoe, or clothing company. A letter from your factory sponsor on their letterhead will also do.
- Both the skater & sponsoring shop or company must Email or call the F.A.S.L. office for membership requirements. There is a membership plan for everyone, even the smallest of companies.
- MEDIA:
- PRINT MEDIA: Be careful about this. If you show up in a company ad stating that you are an “OFFICIAL TEAM RIDER” then you will be considered sponsored.
- WEB MEDIA: Be very careful what you put on social networking sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, etc. Also be careful of SHOP and COMPANY websites listing you as “OFFICIALLY” sponsored. DO NOT let anyone drop you into the sponsored pool of skaters if you are not fully sponsored because we will move you into the correct sponsored group and you will lose points!
- PLEASE NOTE THAT F.A.S.L DOES NOT OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZE “FLOW SPONSORSHIPS, SPONSORED BY EITHER A SHOP OR COMPANY before F.A.S.L. makes you skate sponsored. FLOW SKATERS can skate SPONSORED if they want to.
- Payment of membership, insurance, and contest fees:
- ALL SKATERS ARE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY THEIR OWN F.A.S.L. FEES. ALL FEES ARE DUE ON OR BEFORE THE CONTEST. WE CANNOT AND WILL NOT BILL YOUR SPONSOR FOR ANY OF THESE FEES!
